Fats soluble vitamins- this is opposite to water soluble. They are stored in the body and are not easily passed out. They include, vitamins, E, A, D, and K.
Other supplements contain substance that cannot be categorized as either minerals or vitamins. They contain ingredients such as lycopene, lutein, and antioxidants.
Why do we take supplements
The very best and safe way of getting minerals and vitamins in our body is by taking them through the food we eat every day. As we eat, we must make sure that we eat healthy food containing all the minerals needed by the body. Sometime, however, it becomes difficult to get all the above form our daily diet. It is a challenge even for those people who keenly check what they eat.

Pregnant and breastfeeding women. Women in this condition need to take more supplements because what they consume might not be enough for both her and the baby.
Sick, injured or patients recovering from surgery. They need minerals and vitamins to help them get their healthy bodies fast.

Infants too need supplements to enable them to get the right amounts of calcium and vitamin D
