Water-soluble vitamins- these are explained as minerals that easily pass in and out of the body. They do not build up or accumulate in the body. Water soluble vitamins include the following, vitamin C, vitamin B, biotin, thiamine, riboflavin, pantothenic, folic acid, niacin, and B6.

Minerals- these include, phosphorus, copper, magnesium, zinc, iron, selenium, potassium, and calcium.

Fats soluble vitamins- this is opposite to water soluble. They are stored in the body and are not easily passed out. They include, vitamins, E, A, D, and K.

Other supplements contain substance that cannot be categorized as either minerals or vitamins. They contain ingredients such as lycopene, lutein, and antioxidants.

As we eat, we must make sure that we eat healthy food containing all the minerals needed by the body. Sometime, however, it becomes difficult to get all the above form our daily diet. It is a challenge even for those people who keenly check what they eat.

Below is a list of people who must take supplements

Pregnant and breastfeeding women. Women in this condition need to take more supplements because what they consume might not be enough for both her and the baby.

Sick, injured or patients recovering from surgery. They need minerals and vitamins to help them get their healthy bodies fast.

If you are restricted, form consuming certain foods. This means there are minerals and vitamins you cannot get form foods hence the need for supplements.

Infants too need supplements to enable them to get the right amounts of calcium and vitamin D
