Snoring

Snoring is a condition affecting a large number of people. It is an embarrassing condition. Sleeping next to a snoring person is very uncomfortable. It makes you stay awake all night and might even force you to switch beds. Snoring is caused by the relaxation of mouth and throat muscles. Air cannot freely flow which result in the vibration of the soft pallets as one breathes In and out. Throat exercises are known to reduce this embarrassing condition. Before starting anything to cure snoring, see the doctor first for advice.

Singing

SingingYes, the normal singing plays a very big role in strengthening the throat and mouth muscles. During the day sing a lot, it will help you not snore once you retire to bed. When we sing, the mouth is wide open; this allows the expansion of throat muscles as one breath in and out. Make a habit of singing at least twenty minutes in a day to reduce the snoring problem.

Chin press throat muscles

It is very common for the elderly, people suffering from respiratory diseases and overweight people to suffer from snoring. The conditions above lead to the weakening of throat muscles. Place your finger on your chin and gently press it back and down so that it is slightly tucked. As you perform this exercise, you should feel twitchy on the side neck. Repeat this procedure several times before going to bed. Before each try, hold and relax for some time.

Open your mouth wide and say Ahhhh

With your mouth open, push your tongue out such that it is flat and straight. Move your tongue to the right and left, up and down gently. Ensure that you are not curling it as you move. After moving the tongue in all directions, take a break and repeat the procedure. Do this at least three times. The exercises above might not totally heal the snoring problem, but it will reduce it a great deal.  We cannot control snoring while asleep, so, performing the explained exercises will be the only solution.

Sipping through a straw

Sipping through a strawThis exercise enhances the movement of muscles. The throat muscles have to be flexible to allow free flow of air while asleep. Sipping through a straw with pursed lips strengthen this muscles. Make you lips flat, press them against each other and pretend to swallow. Stay in that position for about five minutes continuously. Repeat the procedure five times in a day.
